Over 100 people took part in the Easter Egg Hunt!

Families took part in ‘pond dipping’ and marshmallow cooking with the help of the rangers.

The free event was hugely popular with people of all ages, and is part of a series of events that Chiltern Rangers and Wycombe Youth Action are putting on for their joint Young Roots initiative.

Paul New, Ranger, is the Young Roots project coordinator: “The Easter Egg Hunt was a great success. Many of the families came along having heard of the other work that we do in the community. This was a great opportunity for people to experience the beautiful Funges Meadow nature reserve that we at Chiltern Rangers maintain and preserve for our local wildlife.”

Chiltern Rangers and Wycombe Youth Action will be holding further events throughout the summer, with some of them taking place at Funges Meadow, off Bowden Lane, High Wycombe.

Wycombe Youth Action’s General Manager, Lindsay Horler, encouraged young people to take part as volunteers:  “The Young Roots project offers so many opportunities for young people to get involved in their local environment and wider community, through volunteering or taking part in activities. Whether you’re interested in hands-on outdoors activities or are more arty and creative, there really is something for everyone.”
